2gb file in offiles dir

Our Groupwise system's been running very slowly recently, couldn't see
anything wrong at the agents and server utilization seems normal.

Not sure if it's connected but I checked the offiles folder and there's a
2gb .000 file in one of them, this is at least 100 bigger than the next
largest file in any of these FDxx folders. Is there any way I can delete /
reduce this file with a maintenance job and could it be causing the
slowdown?

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks for the link Uwe,

I ran the GWCheck job with the settings in the TID and went through the log
file (we only have 40 users on this PO so it didn't take long to scan
through). I used 20mb as the size limit and it showed up a few items but
there were none larger than 50mb. I reran it with 100mb as the limit and no
items were returned so I've no idea where this 2gb comes from.

Is there any other way to find out what caused it and if it can't be traced
is it worth considering just deleting it?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve,

you could enforce a mailbox quota of 1 GB and wait if somebody complains <G>

You can try and copy it away. The POA probably won't notice unless somebody opens the mail to which the attachment belongs. The result will be an error on the client, not more.

Thanks Uwe,

I'll move it offline and see if anyone reports any errors, I can't imagine a
valid reason for it being there, cheers for the advice.
