I haven't done a structure and integrity check on my system in quite some
time. Is this still needed? I used to run it from time to time to clear
up little 'glitches' with the system.

I'm going to be installing the latest SP for GroupWise 6.5 soon, and would
like to 'clean up' at the same time. Is there still a GWCHECK32? Is it
done through ConsoleOne?

What should I do? Got any TIDs handy?

You betcha! I usually have customers do it weekly!

The POA will be faster (i.e., running through ConsoleOne) - so I'd really
recommend that. You should right-click on your post offices, choose
GroupWise Utilities|Mailbox/Library Maintenance. You should first do a
structure check with a fix. After that runs, do a contents check with a
fix.

Can I run this mainenance with the POAs up and users logged in? Anything
I should keep my eyes open for? Is there a TID anywhere that details the
process?

You can run the maintenance tasks while users are logged in during
business hours. If you have a fast server, your users *may* never even
notice.

There are two tasks to perform, Structure and Content. While you can run
them together, it has never been suggested on any forum I've visited or
recommended by Novell Tier 2 engineers I've talked too.

Structure checks are most important. I like to think of Structure and
Content checks like a book. The Structure is the chapter and the Content
is the text within the chapter.

Here's what I do as scheduled tasks for my servers.
Daily Structure Check and Fix (Runs after hours, before backups)
Weekly Contents Check and Fix (Runs on weekends, before backups)

And to meet Company policy
Daily Expire/Reduce Messages
Weekly Expire/Reduce Calendar, Notes and Tasks
